The producers, the life historians, who are we?

I am Ian Baker, a visual story teller.

I have been producing books and photography for more than 30 years. By "trade" or skill set, I am first a photographer, then a director / producer and editor. Over the years I built a very successful company in Auckland, Tuatara Press. My work took me to every region in New Zealand and around the world.

My parents and I were born in England. We emigrated here when I was ten, on the TSS Captain Cook in 1954. Life has its way of redirecting and letting people find a new path. I believe we have an obligation to pass on to future generations who we are and what understandings of life we have learned and hold dear.

So often we hear " I wish I had listened more to my father's or mother's stories and if only I had recorded or written them down."

I am Camelia Petrus and I am a life historian.

I was a graphic artist in my younger years. Later on I studied Psychology and from there, I just followed the steps into the deep forest of knowledge in human behavior. During those university years I worked as a radio program host that made me aware of many and varied stories that people had to tell and the need to tell them.

Here, I am helping people to leave something priceless behind, their life stories.

In the past, family stories and legends were all handed down by word of mouth from generation to generation. Now, we have the help of technology and there are no excuses for not creating for our children and grandchildren, shortcuts through the landscape of life. Let them know what life taught you, what beliefs and, values you have as your most precious friends.

We hope that you do something before it is too late.

Finally, because of our backgrounds, we believe we are uniquely skilled to help others tell their story using audio and video in a meaningful way that is both easy and effective. We are looking forward to working with you.
